ASRS screens for symptom indications. DIVA-5 structures the exploration of symptoms and impairment in childhood and adulthood. Neither replaces a comprehensive clinical assessment.
Different tools for different questions
| Question | Six-question ASRS | DIVA-5 |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Initial screening | Structuring a diagnostic interview |
| Format | Self-reported frequency | Interview with a trained clinician |
| History | Recent symptoms | Childhood, adulthood and impairment |
| Limit | Does not confirm or exclude ADHD | Does not cover all aspects of differential diagnosis |
How to interpret an ASRS result
A screening result can help you decide whether to discuss your difficulties with a professional. It is not a percentage probability of ADHD, a severity rating or a medication recommendation. Difficulties can still deserve assessment when your score is below the threshold.
The questionnaire on this website gives an immediate result without registration. Answers are calculated on your device and are not sent to the practice. It uses Greek questions; this wording is not represented as a documented, validated translation.
What does DIVA-5 add?
DIVA-5 explores symptoms across life stages and their effect on functioning. The DIVA Foundation explains that a general psychiatric assessment is also needed for other and coexisting conditions. Using an interview tool does not make the diagnosis automatic.
You do not need to learn the questions or prepare the “right” answers. Descriptions of actual situations are more useful, including experiences you are unsure how to interpret.
Preparing useful examples
- A recent difficulty at work or in education.
- An example at home or in relationships.
- What you remember about school and what remains unclear.
- When things become easier and what support you already use.
- Questions you hope the appointment will answer.
A result from another website can be a starting point. Repeating many tests until one matches your expectations is unlikely to clarify the whole picture.
Moving from screening to assessment
At Georgios Mylonas’s practice, assessment considers history, functioning and alternative explanations. Review the assessment process, fees and appointment options before deciding whether to book.
Frequently asked questions
Is DIVA-5 an online self-test?
No. It is a clinician-administered diagnostic interview, rather than an automated self-diagnosis test.
Does a positive ASRS guarantee an ADHD diagnosis?
No. It indicates that further investigation may be useful. The clinical conclusion takes account of history and other possible explanations.
Do I need school reports?
They may help if available. If you do not have them, discuss other available sources of information about childhood.
